Why Doesn’t my Galaxy Watch Turn on When I Look at it?

There could be several reasons your Galaxy Watch does not turn on when you look at it. The battery may be completely run down, try charging it for at least 15 to 20 minutes before turning it back on. Check to make sure you have turned on the feature raise screen to wake or it will not display the screen when your wrist is moved. It could also be that it may not be sitting snugly on your wrist, not allowing the watch to detect when your wrist is raised. Try and readjust the way it is fitting on your wrist and switch out your wrist to see if this fixes the issue.

It may be as simple as a software update is needed, we recommend you always install all new updates on your Galaxy Watch when available. This will hopefully fix any glitches that may have been affecting the watch’s display screen from turning on. Lastly, check the watch for any damage that has occurred as it may be no longer working due to damage.

Summary
Changing your Samsung Watch 4’s screen wake-up so you can see the time, date, steps, heart rate, or whatever you have chosen on your watch’s face can be done either on your watch or through your smartphone’s Galaxy Wearable app. Remember when you turn this on every time your watch’s face is on, you are using more of the battery and run the risk of draining it a lot quicker than if it was off.

If you are finding that for some reason your watch is not turning on after you have changed the setting on your watch, try turning them on with your phone. The steps are the same as above but you will go into the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone.
